river rocks and skull

Thanks to the internet, one can see that a lot of people share an obsession for painting river rocks. Rocks are a blank canvas. My lack of drawing and painting ability not withstanding, i remind myself that art is fun like when we were kids. Stencils help and also looking at the work of people who can draw who I try not to be insanely jealous of. And the paper mache skulls at Micheal's offer endless possibilities for painting them a la dia de los Muertos.

The one got from Wal-Mart was so dilute, I gave up.

  2. thanks! just now saw your comment. I used "craft smart" acrylic paint from Micheals and Martha Stewart craft paint is good, too. Craft paint comes in flat or glossy and I tend to like flat but it's a matter of taste. When completely dry you should paint on a thin coat of "Duraclear" varnish, also sold at Micheals.

Don't bother with buying expensive paint if you're painting rocks. Craft paint works great.
