Potholders! (and two aprons). I was messing around trying to come up with a banner for my etsy shop and put everything out on the picnic table.
None of the potholders really pass muster to be sold. Each one has a little something not quite perfect and each one has been a learning experience that is making me better at sewing them. The batting/fill was a challenge until i came up with a combination that has heat protection properties without being too bulky. been loving the fabric tho. i'll keep a couple, give away some, and take apart the rest and re-do them.
is it wrong to want them to look perfect? i don't think so. whatever makes me happy.

it has come to this
but i mean it in a good way. just spent half and hour cutting out wool squares in preparation for sewing hot pads to sell at the market. and spending a lot of time just scrutinizing fabric, thinking about colors. I wish i had started this a long time ago. the benefit of getting older is my head has room to create rather than obsess on relationships and other ephemera. it's like going back to childhood looking at crayons.

let your flag fly
Buntings seem so timeless. I could easily become obsessed with them. I made this for Ping's b'day and now never want to take it down.
