wool shorts, second act

I've loved wool tweed forever but good luck finding it by the yard. Tore apart some shorts that were handed over to me. Given the age of the previous owner they've got to be, i don't know, 1950s prep school? Constructed in the USA with wool woven in Ireland. The pattern for the purse was translated from Japanese and i believe the purse handle is Japanese, too.
